China Mobile announced that it had reached over 90 million 4G subscribers as of the end of December 2014, seeing a stronger-than-expected growth, reported Beijing Business Today on January 21. The operator expects to sign up 100 million 4G users by the end of this month. As FDD-LTE (Frequency Division Duplexing-Long Term Evolution) licenses are yet to be issued, China Mobile continues to hold down the top spot of 4G subscriber base in China. It expects to deploy over one million 4G base stations and sell over 200 million 4G smartphones in 2015.
